AR-enhanced Children's Book
My team and I created immersive reading experiences for elementary students using augmented reality (AR). We wrote stories with large language models, crafted images with Adobe FireFly, and converted them into 3D assets with Kaedim. Using Adobe Aero, we packaged the content into AR scenes accessible via QR codes. Adobe Illustrator was used for book layout, exporting polished PDFs. This project showcased how technology can enhance children's reading experiences.
Skills
Creating Elements
The theme for our children's book was fairy tales with characters that were whimsical paintbrushes. We wanted these paintbrushes to have cartoonish looks with expressive faces, so I experimented with image AI generative tools like Adobe Firefly and Canva, trying out different prompts. Each tool had its pros and cons, and it was a fun yet challenging process to find the right style. I learned a lot about the capabilities and limitations of these tools along the way.

Refining Elements
Once we finalized the characters, my role was to refine their details using Adobe Illustrator. This step required a keen eye for detail and a lot of patience, but it was rewarding to see our paintbrush characters come to life with crisp, polished features.

Designing the Cover
Our first cover design was a plain background with two characters, and it felt incomplete. Given a second chance, I completely revamped it. I focused on our protagonist, Bella, choosing a glowing background setting and adding elements to highlight her. I also rearranged the typography to better complement the design. The transformation was dramatic, and it felt great to see the cover truly reflect the magic of our story.
