School of Social Work, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Instructional Design Assistance
This 2024 Spring semester, I had the amazing opportunity to intern at the UNC School of Social Work as they welcomed their first cohort for the online Master of Social Work program. It was such a thrill to be part of this groundbreaking moment and get firsthand experience.

My tasks were pretty diverse—I designed module plans and created engaging online content using tools like Padlet, Flipgrid, H5P, and Canvas. Additionally, I assisted my supervisor, Dr. Stefanie Panke, to organise training sessions for faculty on topics like Technology Integration in Teaching, Effective Communication, and Online Classroom Management Techniques. Another task I was in charge of is coordinating the first cohort activities through a specific communication plan

By the end of my internship, I had three courses ready to go for the Spring semester and four more for the Summer. One of my biggest takeaways was realizing that developing courses is a continuous feedback loop, and that you can create a strong social presence in an online environment in so many different ways. It was an incredible learning experience!
2022 - 2023

Teaching assistance

In late 2022, I had the exciting opportunity to contribute to the launch of a blended English course called English Discovery, a collaboration between SOFL and IIG Vietnam. My role involved utilizing innovative tools like simulation games, augmented reality (AR), and social media to enhance in-person activities. This approach significantly boosted engagement and learning outcomes.

One of my key achievements was maintaining a class unit completion rate of over 85% and an average test score of above 80% on our e-learning platform. Additionally, my efforts in teaching innovation and in-class interaction earned me an average rating of 90% from both supervisors and students.
​
Beyond my regular tasks, I also had the opportunity to serve as a guest teacher for in-person lectures. This experience sharpened my pedagogical skills and deepened my understanding of teaching in a higher education setting. Overall, this role was incredibly rewarding and instrumental in my professional growth.
2015 - 2023
English Language Center in Hanoi, Vietnam
English Teacher/ Manager

Since December 2022, I have been both an English teacher and the manager at my own English language center. As a teacher, I have successfully instructed students to gain admission to several specialized high schools for the gifted in Hanoi and coached students to achieve IELTS scores of 6.5 to 7.0.
​
In my managerial role, I coordinated instructors and teaching assistants for classes each school year and increased enrollment by 8% year-over-year by modernizing our recruitment strategy. Additionally, I adapted our in-person classes to a virtual format using Google Suite and Zoom Meeting, ensuring a seamless transition and continued high-quality education.

Marketing Intern

I played a key role in organizing and promoting various events and activities. One of the highlights was organizing the 10th-year anniversary celebration, which was attended by over 4,000 guests, including parents, alumni, government officials, business partners, and media organizations. This large-scale event required meticulous planning and coordination, and it was a thrilling experience to see it all come together successfully.

In addition to event planning, I coordinated media content for a range of seasonal activities, including recruitment drives, AAH’s Got Talent 2022, and Archimedes Open Day. My responsibilities included designing media publications such as videos, podcasts, and flyers, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. These tasks allowed me to enhance my creative skills and contribute to the overall marketing efforts effectively.

During my time at ULIS, I acquired knowledge in all parts of language, notably phonetics and pragmatics. These factors facilitated the development of ESL courses and the modification of teaching methodologies to enhance students’ comprehension and retention of teachings, rather than mere rote memorization.

Furthermore, my exposure to translation and interpretation courses has afforded me a multitude of opportunities to engage with bilingual career, supported by immersive simulation exercises and unpaid internships conducted inside the academic setting.

During the initial three-year duration, the International business program provided the development of a fundamental understanding of economic activities, corporate operations, as well as micro and macro contexts.
