My Story

Growing up, I had an amazing mother who saw a need in our community and took action. Our house was miles away from any well-qualified STEM centers, so she went ahead and established one herself. It was in this environment that I first dipped my toes into teaching ESL. I started helping out and eventually found myself managing the center’s operations by the time I was in high school. Those experiences ignited a passion in me and inspired my choice of major when I headed off to university.

I ended up pursuing a double major in International Business and English. Balancing my studies with working at the STEM center was a challenge, but it was incredibly rewarding. I was able to apply what I was learning in real-time, leveraging my academic knowledge to improve our operations and teaching methods.

Then came COVID. As a “COVID kid,” I, like many others, faced the difficulties of online learning. It was tough adjusting to the new environment, both as a student and as an educator. The struggle to adapt my teaching methods to an online format was real, but it also sparked something in me. I became determined to find effective ways to instruct learners and sustain our business amidst such global challenges.

This drive led me to my current master’s program, Educational Innovation, Technology, and, Entrepreneurship, where I have opportunities to sharpen my skills about teaching and learning in digital context, the market of this industry, and Artificial Intelligence's impact on education. It’s been a journey of passion, resilience, and continuous learning, and I’m thrilled to be on this path. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a bit better!
